Anyone participating in any way in the REUNION event must follow the rules listed below. Any violation of the rules listed below will be eligible for sanction(s).
Classification
All participants in the competition must be registered in the appropriate category according to classification of the competition REUNION
Professional teachers and/or dancers must be registered in the "Professional" category. No professionals are accepted in categories below the professional level in any group type.
Age Calculation
The age taken into consideration will be the age as of January 1st of the year of competition in which the dancer participates. For groups, age is determined by the average age of the dancers in the group, rounded to the decimal point. Ex: 13.6 = 14 years old
THE REUNION team reserves the right to verify the age of the dancers at any time.
As of February 1st, fees will apply for all modifications to your registrations.
Registration by category
The same group (solo/duo/trio/small and large group) is allowed to register only one number per category. To perform in the same category, a group must include a minimum of 50% of new dancers.

Dancers are required to be present 2 hours before their performance time.

Judging System
The REUNION competition offers an unprecedented impartial judging system, composed of judges specialized in their respective styles. They are committed to:
- Judge the numbers of a dance style according to their respective field of expertise;
- Not to judge a number for which they are the choreographer: the results will then be calculated on the total of the judges' points excluding their own;
- Refuse any verbal or monetary solicitation that could alter his/her judgment (no bribes or cronyism will be tolerated).
- Receive training from a person certified by the organization;
In order to protect the impartiality of the judging, the REUNION competition agrees not to divulge the names of the dance schools and choreographers associated with each routine to the judges in charge.

Code of ethics
The REUNION competition is a safe gathering, both physically and psychologically: we advocate respect, good manners, courteous exchanges, collaboration and support between participants. By participating in the REUNION event, you commit yourself to help your fellow man, multiply happiness, smiles and high fives, have a positive attitude, offer your spontaneous compliments to your competitors, and thus contribute to the essence and success of the event.
Any behavior that is rude, disrespectful, or physically or psychologically harassing will result in eviction from the competition site and disqualification.
In the event of a situation involving a spectator or participant, REUNION reserves the right to contact the head of the affiliated dance school. Registration fees are non-refundable. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@thereunioncompetition.com.
Recognition
For all information regarding awards and scholarships, please consult the Awards and Scholarships section of our website.
Championship
The Championship is a multi-style competition within the event. Anyone can enter, regardless of level, age group or style. The championship is no exception to the other categories: the same rules and score deductions apply.
"Create" Mentions
The REUNION competition wishes to encourage all artists equally. In this sense, the competition has set up a system of "Create" mentions, allowing the judges or the members of the organization to award a mention to a group, an artist, a choreographer or a school in a spontaneous way, like a nice big "pat on the back". The "Create" mention highlights the remarkable work of individuals who have touched the heart of one of the members of the competition, by their investment, their personality, their involvement, or any other gesture or attitude worthy of mention.
"Rising Above" Awards
The "Rise Up" award is given to individuals/groups who are favorites in their style. The judges will award the "Rise" citations once the awards have been determined. The evaluation criteria listed above are very important, but the "Rise" mention takes precedence over the result and allows a group to access the showcase. A group could be 2nd in its style, but be invited to the showcase if it earns the "Rise" mention.
Showcase
As mentioned earlier, the acts that receive the "Rise Above" award will go on to the showcase, as will the winner of the championship. The selection is based on the judges' favourites and not on the results obtained during the competitions. The unveiling of the "Rise" awards will take place after the last competition.
The acts receiving a "Rise" award may not present a different act than the one presented during the competition.
